A copy of email dated 01.04.2016, from NFPE, a/t SSPOs, PKD on the above topic is furnished below.
Sir
We are shocked to see the circular on CBS dated 30.03.2016.
It is a well known fact that the current worst scenario of POSB transaction is not because of attitude of our operative staff but due to the failure in tackling the situation and to find a remedial action in time.
For the past two weeks ,employees, consisting majority of lady staff, are compelled to work even up to midnight, without any sufficient security, to close the business and to offer the best possible service to our customers even at this worst hit scenario. Only because of the sincere attitude of our staff , the public complaints have been reduced to a great extent. They are trying their level best to offer all services to the public from the limited resources available with them.
Changing of value date as referred in the instructions should naturally give the customers interest rate of current fiscal year . If it fails due to technical issues, our employees cannot be blamed.
We are surprised to receive orders from your office directing the staff to work on 03.04.2016 (Sunday) to open the accounts which was brought to PO accounts as per BCP. Previously, it was informed that SOs will get sufficient time in April to open all such accounts in finacle. . Due to sluggishness of Finacle for almost all days our employees are compelled to work even upto midnight. Hence again directing them to spare their Sunday for opening of accounts is a cruelty. Also as a part of strike agreement, directorate has issued directions to all HOCs (FNo. 16/56/2011 - SR dated 08.07.2011 reiterated vide F No. 08/15/2011-SR dated 09.01.2012) not to entrust the staff to work on Sundays / Holidays. Hence you are requested to issue directions to all concerned to this effect and withdraw the orders compelling the staff to work on 03.04.2016 (Sunday).
Yours Sincerely
C Unnikrishnan
